Hidden number plates - likely outcome?

In relation to this thread in Biker Banter

If someone was to put one of these
on their bike and was caught using it on the road with the registration hidden, what would you expect the outcome to be?

Failure to display a registration plate correctly carries no points and is commonly dealt with via a £30 fixed penalty ticket. They are trying to add points to the offence for next year.

We'd better invent a good excuse for having such a device, because there's room for a charge of attempting to pervert the course of justice. If you had a good excuse ready, then the charge should fail unless you're seen to operate it as approaching a speed trap.

How about: It's fitted for when I park on pavement lights in London? (No need to display registration off the road, and the bike cannot be parking ticketed if registration not displayed)

How about painting lots of 'fake' number plates on the back of your car so the person checking the film doesn’t know which is the correct one (and possibly fool and automated number plate reading system)?

It has to be said that the 4 people that ive stopped with one of these on their bike on the Queens highway was a Class 1....To**er!

One was arrested because he used it on his R1 and had been committing Thefts, the others were just given fixed penalty notices for failing to display an index. (£30 fine)

They were all detained for a long time at the roadside whilst other offences were being investigated.

Obviously, if you can prove that they are being used all the time for illegal purposes then you have an array of very serious offences.

Anyone with one of these on their vehicles for the sole purpose of avoiding Cameras etc etc seriously needs their heads...............examining!
It says to me..'please stop me and report/arrest me for anything that you can think of because im a pratt and proud of it'.

Id have to disagree with that last point Tonyrec.
Wishing to avoid being targetted by a state controlled menace, the gatso and talivan, dosent suggest to me, a problem with someones head mate, more likely with the state.
Being pulled over and "taking the hit" dosent suggest a lawbreaker, at least not a conventional one.
On the other hand, someone using one who dosent stop and does whatever it takes to avoid the pull certainly does suggest a head problem!

Im talking about the wider scale of things...not speeding ....but Armed Blaggings, Drive by shootings,thefts etc etc.
Sadly these things are being used in serious crime now and i certainly wouldnt condone the use of them at all.
