Cleaner burning diesel
Discussion
its "overfuelling" and has been setup that way, which is a shame cos it could run clean
once the turbos kick in the smoke should clear
he can also use NOS or even LPG as a power booster

BTW guys, HMRC allow you to use 2500lts of cooking oil a year on the road without having to pay vat+duty......
and as much as you want on the strip!
Yes, I used to run my DD on cooking oil (and it runs much nicer than on diesel), but the cheapest I can buy vegetable oil at the moment is £1.25 per litre. The Biodiesel manufacturer a mile down the road from me does bio-diesel @ 95p per litre. I was paying 55p per litre from Tesco before prices rocketed.and as much as you want on the strip!
BTW, diesel will burn at any ratio from about 3:1 to 40:1, but smokes like buggery at it's stoichiometric ratio (or richer) of 14.7:1. Yes, I know that's the same as petrol. Diesel also has a slightly higher calorific value than petrol too. Those that are running good times without smoke are most likely running tractor pulling boost pressures- in the region of 300psi!

can i up the boost on my mondeo tdci 130 i wonder...
yes you can try the "derv doctor" they tune diesel engines for some strange reason one word of warning if you use cooking oil or biodiesel you will proberbly have to keep an eye on your fuel filter and change it regularly as they clog a lot of common rail/Hdi units dont like bio/cooking oils based derv, and can only tolerate a 5% mix as the fuel lubricates the injector pump, i know a few who thought saving 20p a ltr was clever......
so whose gonna build the first tdi or tdci racer? ........
there could be sponsors waiting, JCB went 300+ on the salt flats.
