Hi guys.

Anybody had trouble locking the Ro and getting 5 quick pips from the horn. The handbook says that this indicates that either doors bonnet or boot are not closed properly. They are and I've opened and reclosed them all. Didn't have the problem first journey of the day and then moved a couple of miles and this issue crops up.

Its a good thing the doors are actually locked. Anybody got any ideas????

Try the boot lid 'stops' (the rubber cones) make sure that they are adjusted so that when you trigger the boot opening mechanism, the boot pops up a bit other wise I found the alarm for some reason, thought the boot wasn't shut. This will have the effect of the boot catch being "tighter" on the lid latch.

Also, check the load trim around the boot catch. If that is loose or out of line, the alarm, again, thinks the boot isn't shut.

Hth, my own exeriences!!

I had the same thing and from the info in here i lifted the boot stops and it seemed to cure it. I now have the problem that if i dont use the car for a couple of days i have to piont the key at the top of the windscreen to open car and boot but if ive used it i can open car and boot from 20 ish feet. Bizzare!

One of your door lock motors probably isn't working. Are you sure its actually locking?

Thanks for all the replies. I adjusted the rubber stops in the boot lid and although on first operation I got the same result. Then I tried a few more times and it started happening again.

Thanks monkfish it seems that one of the door motors is sticking. if I push it down manually and then use the remote it will work again a few times before stopping again.

I suppose this means a new motor needs to be fitted. Are they readily available from VX??? or do you have to wait like most parts. Either way I'm glad I just forked out for the extended Network q warranty.

Should be readily available! We have drivers side in stock, but just now, not the passenger side. If you cant get one, let me know.

Thanks again.

I've just called Sewards and they are ordering the part which is covered by the warranty (good news). I'm not in too much of a rush because we are a car down whilst waiting for my wifes new fiat 500 1.2 sporting 35 VED per year (better news).

It looks like I've got the same problem. The passenger side will only lock intermittently with the remote but manually pushing the pin down locks it (for a moment I thought I couldn't lock it at all!). Any idea on the cost of fixing it?

Door lock motor is £128.07. No more than an hours work to change. Just nuts and bolts etc. Got one in stock too

You need a new "red" clip that locks it on. We have these too.
