Well got the 19" VXR alloys refurbed and painted in Porsche Anniversary graphite. Tyres (just cheapy Nexens for a couple of weeks) went on today. Waiting for more stock to come in of my preferred brand. Fronts 245/35 19, rears 265/30 19.
So I have 4 of 2004 CV8 alloys (18"
going spare with good rubber on them. Pics...

Standard size is 245/35 on the VXR alloys which (when measured today) are 19 x 8.5.
No bulging, no problems with handling or wobbling (so long as you go with extra load/heavy duty (which is recommended anyway).
I had 255/35 18's before on the 18x8 CV8 alloys with no problems.
The main reason for the 265/30 rather than a 255 which I had before was to maintain the same rolling radius to keep the speedo true. As it is I'll be 0.2mph out at 60mph, so I can live with that. I think there may be a smidgen extra traction there, but I hope to find out at the weekend!

Pics as requested. As you can see, no issues with bulging. Though the fitter did swear a bit trying to get the 30 profile tyre to seat on the bead!
Have a look at the weekend if you're gonna be at the Pod!
These pics are quite big in an attempt to make it a clear image, not sure how well I succeeded, but there you go.

My mistake - 8.5 not 8's... That should be ok really as its just within the recomended rim width. Nice colour choice, shame they are on a slow car colour...
well the cars at least primed ready for its change

nice repaint on the rims gas man! I still want to get round to painting my spare set...

Ha ha ha, as I recall, my NA 5.7 was about half a second slower than a FI 6.0 last trip down the strip! Is that why it's called QUICKsilver...? <chuckle>

I was impressed with the paint job for just £40 per corner. To be honest it could be better if I was being REALLY fussy. But I may change colour for something a bit darker anyway (anthracite instead of graphite). I did put him under pressure to get it done before PVS so I can't complain.
And I actually quite like silver! :s Red is too laddish, and yellow too garish. Would mebbe have liked odyssey, but not very easy to find, so hey ho! (Black shows the dirt too easily IMO)

Think the NA cars had the advantage of not enough power to really wheel spin that day

My suspension is still standard, though I do have the Road Response Pac thing.
I had BO55 VXR's wheels when he bought the replacement 19" alloys (as pictured) at the Walkinshaw open day.
Minor refurb needed on them so I had them painted too for the same price.
And sorry for the mix-up over which car it was at the Pod... all those 05 models with FI look the same to me!! <hehe>
And Alan, I have plenty of power to break traction... it's called control! lol
