My dear old 528i is in the body shop being put right after it was driven into at a petrol station. As it's a total non-fault (of mine) incident, I'm putting the whole thing through Accident Exchange (top people, by the way, very pleasant and professional at all times) and they dropped off an E60 530d for me today.
So I'm going to pretend to be a regional sales director, or something, for a few days.
It's very comfy and seems pretty nippy, too.
ETA: OK, so I've driven it home. The iDrive isn't as inscrutable as people say it is. The kickdown is immense. I like it a lot.
Even if it is a diesel.
