Hello All,

Has anyone go any ideas of what could be causing the below problem?

The wing mirror switch for the drivers door opening solenoid is no longer working.
I have had the door card off to look for loose wiring and all apears to be fine.

When the door is open, if I press the button I can hear the solenoid operate, however when I close the door the switch no longer operates.

The switch inside the car still operates fine regardless of the door position and the passenger side door is operating as should be.

This problem just happened after waxing the car using an electric buffer so maybe the vibrations have effected something?

Any ideas will be much appreciated.

Cheers
Mark

Can I hijack this thread a bit and say HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Similar problem. Car got very wet on the way back from the dealers yesterday after a repair of aircon. This evening the door opened to let me in but wouldn't open to let me out and the boot won't open either. Passenger door OK.

She is starting to test my patients.

Can anybody give me a heads up please.

I have tried disconnecting the black box for the door controls in the boot and re-connecting it, but I still have the problem with the drivers door wing mirror button.

When the door is open the button works fine and you can hear the solenoid operating, it is only when the door closes (not even fully) then the button no longer works.

The good old TVR electrics are driving me crazy!! banghead

Anyone got any more ideas?

Cheers
Mark

Instead of taking the Door card off, it's a lot easier to remove the Door mirror (Twist the whole mirror all the way back, then all the way forward, and remove the 2 Allen head screws. Pull the mirror out and pull out the wiring from inside the door, then check and clean the 2 connectors. There are 2 small looms with connectors, one for the Mirror Adjustment motor and heating, and one for the Open button. Keep pressing the open button and fiddle with the connector to identify if there is a loose connection that stops the button working.
