£60 and 3 points! Sounds like he/she got off lightly to me doesn't speeds of over 100mph usually warrant a ban?

typical shocking journalism. if the police have had them for 97mph (hence only 3 points/£60) and these clowns were able to get such a decent close-up photo from their Audi then there's absolutely no proof that they were doing 130mph at all.

all journo's should be shot - lying, propaganda spinning scum.

its interesting they stopped the bug....surely they had his plate so they could get him later....the bigger law breaker is the 599 without the plate .....thats who i would have gone for

The do-gooders think anything over 100mph is irresponsibly fast, but is just a boring cruise on a clear road.

I like how "Police said the Bugatti was officially clocked at 97mph." is left until the very end but 130mph is in the headline... planks

The points go to the driver, not the car.

If the driver has a French licence then a 'skeleton' british licence with the points on it will be created on the computer.

I'm afraid that looks like a load of rubbish. I doubt that a car doing 70mph more than the camera civilian car would be able to take such a photo, the Bug would not have had time to get into the lane in front. Those cars aren't doing above 70 in the photo.

They see 2 cars cruising along the motorway, see their opportunity, and sell their story to the paper.

The 599 was at the breakfast club, noticed it didn't have a rear plate on when it arrived.... Sounds like journalistic license to me....

The creative-press do like to bandy the word 'race' about willy-nilly. It conjurs all the right images they wish, in order to summon forth the splenetic juices of the outraged reader.

I am sure they were doing absolutely nothing more than what many people here would describe as playing or hooning.

If there's any truth in it, doing 130+ through traffic is a bit dumb to say the least - any one of those unaware, joe-plebs could have pulled out and caused a very nasty mess! frown

This was 07.45 on a Sunday morning.
97 was what they were clocked at.
Dawdling.
