My mobile contract with O2 is up next week and I want a change of phone and tarrif. I would like to stay with O2 if possible.

Increasingly, I have a need to check my home email account and share prices whilst at work. Our works IT systems are monitored very closely so I need a phone which allows me to do this.

Does anyone have a recommendation for an email/web enabled handset. I've seen Blackberry's, Palms, Nokia's etc but haven't got a clue which is best.

Call Steve on 07771 888822 (Mention James). Just sorted me out with Blackberrys and all the kit for £200 less each month than we were paying with Orange for standard phones!!

I am a week into using the new Pearl and it's miles better than BlackBerrys of old. The updated software is very clever and interface has been improved. I don't think I'd survive without it.

I'll second that. The only caveat is you can't see the screen outdoors.

As a bonus it's got a free sat nav and car kit/charger with it. Battery only lasts about two days, but apparently that's normal on WM devices.

I'd recommend it based on my experiences.

Yeah that's basically the same as the one I have, the XDA Orbit 2 just rebranded for O2. As said it's great except for a shiny screen that's difficult to see in strong sunlight.

I've got an old Blackberry - and whilst it does the job of getting my emails to me - it's crap with pictures/graphs etc...

My wife has a HTC - seems a lot more user friendly and modern compared to blackberry - just make sure the device you get is able to open any attachments that you are regularly sent. If you're viewing graphs etc.... then maybe blackberry won't be the best at displaying them.

I've got the Blackberry Pearl smartphone doopher whatdoyamacallit and I use it all the time.
Being on the road away from the office all the time it is more than useful sending and receiving emails remotely, so I would definitely recommend it/them!

Thanks for the input folks. As Stimmers has said, I only need one for myself on a personal contract.
