Anyone know much about them? Will shortly be after a sensible sized car with a little bit of poke, for the money these seem pretty good - are there any weaknesses or issues I should be aware of?

Chain driven cam.

Set up round the 'ring by the same bloke who sorted the Skyline.

Have a reputation as being tidy handlers for FWD.

Can be over priced.

The wife has a 1998 GT, got it in 2004 with 70,000 miles it's now done 136,000. Had no major problems, just a few bits that have worn, I do as much of the work as possible. Still feels solid, no rattles or squeaks.

Had one of these from 98 for 3 years as a new car... got an amazing deal from nissan at the time...

put 65K miles on it - apart from tyres - changed one brake light bulb. It is a little heavy on front tyres but not excessively so...

The boot is huge loads of inside space fitted an interior door inside with the back seats dropped...

I've got one and I love it, decent steering, LOO on tap, reliable, big boot and room for 5 adults. The lcd display on the stereo probably won't work and they can pop driveshafts but it's a relatively cheap afaik. npoc are a good bunch

Had mine since January , best car i ever bought.

Problem wise :

Suspension top links , drive the car on a bumpy road and any squeeks will give it away that these need replacing.

Wiper spindles , water gets into the bearings and seizes them , push down on the bottom of the wiper arm ( front ) if theres any movement up and down they need replacing.

Drive shafts , have a rubber balancing weight on them. Water can get inside them over time and corrode the shaft on the inside , snapping the shaft when you least need it.

Timing chains , these rattle on startup for about 5 seconds and perfectly normal as oil pressure builds up , if the rattle persists walk away from the car. Stretched timing chains are an engine out job to replace and if it snaps it will probably bend a valve or two.

Rust , can be found around the tailgate but its slow spreading as the bodies are galvanised.

CV joints , if the shaft is ok then clicky CV joints need replacing , probably due to the gator splitting and all of the grease leaking out.

ABS light , if its lit up on the dash then the sensor probably needs a clean or replacing

Good luck finding one mate , look after it and it'll go on forever
