but i suppose it was just a matter of time............

whilst checking the coolant before leaving work i managed to lock the bloody keys in the boot. I have laughed when i have read about other people doing it. My 3 year old daughter summed it up with "oh Daddy you are an idiot sometimes".

Why would you ever put the keys in the boot in the first place?

Been there, done that. (3 times so far)

Taught me an important lesson - mainly that several prominent people in the elise comminuity are quite good at breaking into cars! biggrin

Ever since my house keys, phone etc. were locked in (broken boot lock) I make doubly sure I have everything I need before I close the boot, although thankfully, I do have the spare key to hand - obviously only if I'm at home. I'm sure at some stage I'll lock them in though. You gotta love kids and their honesty.

She was more upset because i had phoned her earlier in the day to tell her i had bought her a nice surprise (Disney Princess game for the Wii) because she had been a good girl. Her surprise was locked in the boot !!

I had to get one of my staff to bring me home for my spare key and then my Dad to take me back to work and then of course for me to eventually come home so she had to wait longer.

Every cloud does have a silver lining though cos i spotted two other Elises and got the waves to go with it on my way home that i wouldnt have done if i had driven mine home at the time i was supposed to.

Next time, keep the keys and lock the 3 year old in the boot...

Clever little things, aren't they

Does the cable ever brake?
How do you get in if it does?
I am heartened to hear someone as intelligent as Shangani did it THREE TIMES

I did something similar. I snapped the boot release cable but fortunately it opened at the same time. I ordered the electric release from Eliseparts and started fitting it on a Friday after work. I was starting to get annoyed with the fiddly fker, it was starting to rain and beer o'clock was rapidly approaching. I snapped, slammed the boot lid and marched into the house. It was only in the morning when I realised I'd locked the bd with the majority of my tools in there!

I've done this..........so I ripped the engine grill off, hacked around, got very annoyed and then realised the keys weren't even in there!!

certainly made me buy a spare pretty quickly!

I'd be pretty pleased that she added the word 'sometimes' frankly.
