id just like to give a thumbs up to walkinshaw performance this week as iv had one of their secondhand superchargers fitted a big thumbs up for that l like the perfomance that gives now and i also had them fit a perfomance clutch and flywheel what can a say 150% improvement on the old one a much nicer car to drive now its lighter smoother to pull away and seems to have cured the problem with the old one that seemed to over heat as soon as you drove the car hard ,all i need to do now is sort out the clunky backlash in the diff and ill be happy

Was it fitted to your 'ro? Mine's going in tomorrow for a s/charger to be fitted - can't wait to get it back. Would be interested for your views on a clutch as I'm unsure about having one fitted.
Ta!

Long story, but just had to be done. I knew that I shouldn't have gone to their open day!
Love to know how you get on with the clutch.
My clutch has only done 7000ish, and is smooth to use. Walkinshaw (quite fairly) wont say 'yes I need one/no I wont'- depends on how I drive it. Have talked to Roger (the big fish), and he basically agrees, saying that its fine in some cars but not in others.....lets see how it goes!

Ps how much quicker is yours and how much more grunt??? Got to wait a week to get it back, as I can't get there before next Saturday. Need to get my engine cover done like JamieP in the not too distant future as I think his looks the biz. Downside is that I'm going to Santa Pod on Sunday in the Nissan Patrol. Fairly safe to say it WONT be going down the strip!

It's back home! Whilst I haven't done any burnouts, the clutch seems ok. Special thanks to Tessa for sorting me out and getting the mechanic to check for suspect heater hoses!
Well impressed that charger doesn't whine except under load, never having had one before, (and only having really driven one under acceleration before, I thought that they whined all of the time. Over the moon that I can still hear the V8 rumble for most of the time, so I've got the best of both worlds!
Ps. If anyone want a set of 19" alloys, they have some sets there at a good price. I was well tempted but I suppose common sense prevailed...

Thanks for bringing the car round and taking me for a spin, the car goes really well now.

We will have to meet up at the Pod soon.

Cheers

Steve,
Loved the Merc - read the road tests on it and some say that it is indeed faster than a Ferrari! Unfortunately you've ruined my son forever! L.o.l!
Good Sunday really!

I've had mine RR'd before and after the Walkinshaw stuff and it came out at about 20% more BHP and 10% more torque, at the wheels.. bonnet up

I have the dyno graphs if anyone is interested?

Needed an edit (my maths sucks)

I'd be a bit miffed if it didn't make at least 500 (same as VXR500).

It made 501 at the flywheel, but still a little miffed, not spoken to Walkinshaw yet but starting to feel I didn't quite get my 7 grands worth.

Seems a little down on what should be expected given you are starting with over 410bhp.

But at the mo with the temps the way they are I`ll be surprised if you weren`t pulling a bit of timing and loosing a few ponies.
