Similiar gripes with TomTom

I have TomTom520 (music addition) which in general I think is excellent, but I have a couple of gripes.
Just wondering if anyone had any workarounds?
1) When playing my iPod through the TomTom (a very nice bit of functionality) I have music setup to output through the FM transmitter, and other TomTom sounds to output through the internal speaker which generally works well. Despite this the music always pauses whenever the TomTom needs to make any announcements, even though they are played through the internal speaker.
2) Is there a "Just Drive" style function? I don't always have a destination, but having cameras & other routing information is still useful...
Other than that excellent - I pay for traffic & camera updates from TomTom which get downloaded over bluetooth from my mobile everytime I turn it on which is cool.
