Electronics Help Required - Soldering!

Does anyone in Aberdeen area have the skills to solder a 20 Pin AMP connector and 2 pin power connector onto a new LCD circuit board for my Sagaris?

Need a high temp electonics solder iron, don't think my 50V BT spade blade will quite to the trick!

Off to Nurburgring and Zolder a week on Tuesday, dashboard in bits

I did that with a £5 cheapo soldering iron from Maplin, so yours should work.

I hope that is not the LCD from Farnell mentioned in this thread.

You're in for a big disapointment if it is. If you've got the right screen, which typically sells for around £200, it'll be fine.

If anyone really wants one of those screens, they can take one off my hands for £20 with all the right connectors already soldered on. Just bear in mind the screen is invisible for 20 minutes in cool weather, until the car warms up.

I bit the bullet, paid for and fitted the proper one last week (which incidentally already has the connectors attched - no soldering required), after wasting my time and money with that Farnell rubbish.

The screen was supplied under warranty and is the genuine article (minus the connectors) Got someone to do the soldering so fingers crossed my backlight will now work!
