EVO got a Tuscan S to do a real 170mph

Can't find the article on the EVO site, but MTM have it here

I've seen an indicated 165mph on several occasions.

I know there is a picture of a GPS showing 200.9mph in a Cerb, but it was a glitch with the GPS device, so it's not real.....

Paul,

With your power you should be good for 190mph+ at Brunters, just depends how stable the car is.....The Sagaris that was there last time only managed around 170mph, but with prob less than 400bhp.

If you are in then I'll see you there...

Jules.

On the Cerburgring last year, I had a GPS speed of 176mph on the autobahns and Im pretty sure a couple of guys went faster. Think one of them got a photo of his GPS reading 187mph yikes

Gearing is theoretically 202mph@6800rpm, she does rev to that in the lower gears, but it is past peak power, so prolly unlikely, 187mph is 6200rpm, but i'm hoping for a tad more than that anything 190 something i will be pleased with. Quite quiet have you worked out the revs you would have to pull to do 200mph? if you have the standard 3.45 diff that would be alot!!! i have a 3.08 diff in mine, makes a bit more use of the grunt.

Hi Brummie, theoretically around 7700rpm but i havent maxed the car as yet to see what it will do in real life.
concerning my diff i dont know the ratio, the only thing i know is that my cerb is the 'GT' model with a standard diff is this the 3.45?

There are sites/equations out there where you can put in grag, bhp, frontal area, weight & gearing & it will tell you your top speed....

I'd like to think you'll crack the 190 barrier too! biggrin

This one isn't bad if you know your gear ratio's

http://www.juric.org/mopar/tools/topspeed.php

Still looking for one that includes drag though....

yes i think the sites that only take into account the gear ratios and wheel/tyre sizes etc would be further from the truth as they dont take into account weight, drag coef etc. If you can find the site your talking about that would be very helpful

Fastest I've had is just under 150, and the car felt really stable, but that was enough for me.
Cars like the Aston Martin Vantage, Audi R8, Bugatti Veyron etc will do 180+, these are built by ompanies who spend millions developing the cars, and here we are in a plastic car sketched up on an old fag packet, built in some old sheds in Blackpool with bits from 1990's Jeep Cherokee's, Saab 99's and Ford Granadas doing 180+ -
yikes

Edited: To remove the waffle - Hot sun and a few beers earlier had made me far too chattylaugh

I had the buzzer sounding in fifth, don't know a real GPS speed but shoulb be around 185 190 ish, was certainly flying and stable.
I saw 167 in Germany last year, but had to ease off as trafic wasn't right for it.
I know 4th gear is 161, so fifth must hold an extra30 odd mph.

172 on a runway on a road angel GPS just after I got it Close to that at fighting torque last year as I kept my foot down past the 3/4 mile point as we had lots of braking room.

Wasn't there someone with an GPS speed reading of 202 once.
