Just changed to a Griff from a Chim 400. Awsome ! should have done it ages ago. Anyway virtually first trip out I've picked up a 5p size stone chip right in the centre of the bonnet. Just wondered if anybody had tried one of these "Chips away" people. Or are there problems likely due to paint match, fibre glass panels etc. Thanks in advance.

The paint job will only be as good as the hand that does it! Chips away are usally good, just make sure its not a friday job! If you want the repair invisible the bonnet will need painting, but bit pointless because it will only get more chips! Maybe you should over take more!

I have asked Chips away to fix a deep scratch. Problem is TVR paint is nice & deep with fleck's (mine is Moonraker Black). Chips say they couldnt do it as the fleck density will look odd and the patch would look obvious.

Best solution is to re-paint the entire panel.

Steady on, chap! Plenty of pistonheaders would disagree: http://www.cam-area.co.uk/testimonials.html

As has been said, paintwork is a skilled trade. That means results will depend on the skill of the individual doing the work. Go with local recommendations (or warnings!) wherever possible - ask around in the appropriate regional forum, or maybe come visit we reprobates who hang out in bodywork&detailing. Anyone who's claiming they can impart their knowledge of the universally terrible results that every operation in the network can achieve is at best being ignorant and misleading, and at worst defamatory and actionable.

Whereabouts in the country are you V8NUTTER? I may be able to vouch for someone locally to you.
