Mine feels like it's exactly where it should be. I don't think the position is altered at all.

I recently fitted a Momo Race wheel from EliseParts and went for the standard 20mm spacer/adaptor. My guess is the wheel is now about 10mm closer than the original wheel. I was toying with the idea of going for the 40mm spacer but reckon I did the right thing - it would probably be too far from the stalks. Btw, you do get a little extra leg room too, even with the normal 20mm spacer.
