When taking pictures of my metallic black car in bright sunlight I get reflection of the sun back that spoils it. I've been told a polarising filter would help, so I bought one.

One can rotate the filter so it diffuses the light in different areas, but I'm not sure what I should be trying to achive and would like some pointers please.

These 3 are the same shot but with the filter at different rotation. I'm not even sure which one I like better..

Should I rotate it to try and reduce the flare as much as possible or just rotate until I think it looks better.

Confused!

Thanks smile

With No 2 you can see the full polarising effect. You won't get rid of the actual sunspot on the bodywork, but the reflections diminish. Try photographing it in a shaded area and see the difference as well.

Nice car - photograph it with a decent background and let's see the results.

Literally 30 seconds, but you could 'shop the light off?
