Get a S2 111s. It's officially rated at 163g/km so it nice and cheap to tax...

What I noticed yesterday was that, whilst I pay £145 for my daily driver, my Dad pays £180 a year for an MGB that my Mum uses for about 1500 miles a year!! Crazy system..

No probs..

It meant the difference in buying a V6 4Motion Golf and a GT TDI Golf for the wife's/our 'sensible' car (although she went for a GT TDI Polo in the end!)!!thumbup

Piooly,
My Sport 160 is £185, just paid up for the year. Also the parkers website suggests £185

Not sure if date has anything to do with it? Yours is a 2001, mine was registered in Sept 2000.

Yup - date dependant. 2001 and onwards was co2 based - prior it was engine size from memory!

Not that crazy once you realise that the road tax system has nothing to do with pollution and everything to do with milking the nation out of as much cash in taxes as possible.mad

Gutted, my S1 111S has the same engine and emissions yet costs more to tax!

Would love to know who worked the tax system out, I'd slap them in the face.

When are we going to stop getting ripped off?

Try an N/A Exige!! Something seriously wrong with this system. I can run a dirt belching diseasal 40K a year and pay less tax frown
