Looking at booking Bedford with easy track. Never used easy track before and see they have 80 bookings wth 44 available left. I tend to book airfield days with motorsport events and am pretty sure they do not run days with as many people as that. I can assume that bedford is a larger track than abingdon/ colerne but with that many people I am worried the track will be crowded. What do people think? Anyone who has gone with easy track it would be good to hear you opinions.

Cheers
Andy

bedford runs the GT for daytime events which is about 4 miles and hard on brakes and tyres(if you have a heavy car)

They run the South West circuit for evenings ussually which is half as long and much more flowing although still flat and featureless

Bedford however is great for beginners and finding the limits as very little to hit and big run offs

enjoy

Went to Bedford with Easy track earlier on in the year. Great organisation and a very well run and friendly event. Short morning briefing and loads of track time as its open pit lane.

Bedfords an amazing venue as you can REALLY push the car and safely find its and your own limits.

Downsides are they have a SERIOUS noise problem at the moment meaning that if you ping the noise meter just once... thats it. Hometime frown so if you have a noisy car... don't bother would be my advice sadly frown

oh and its a bit featureless as someone just said... but thats what makes it safe!

you WILL enjoy it.

Great place to push your limits without stuffing the car if you make a mistake.

I think it's statistcally the worst place in the UK for car-to-car contact though* - for that very reason. At least if you damage your car at oulton/cadwell/combe etc it's likely to have been your fault!

/* I'm saying that based on incidents i've been made aware of rather than any formal stats. There certainly seems to be a disproportionate number of car-to-car incidents there compared with other, more widely used, circuits.

/** Edited to add - not on BaT track days thankfully!

The apparently high numbers of participants works because the course is long at over 4 miles and not everyone is out going round the track all the time. Unless you and your car are supremely fit, you will both require a number of breaks throughout the day to recuperate.
