clatter

ive had work don to my engine, cam ,rockers manifolds etc .the car revs and sounds good , but when the engine is on load it clatters untill i get to just under 3000 revs then the clatter goes away .it seems to be when the engine is under pressure thanks

did you have the ame problem?

For a quick test pull off the vacuum tube to the dizzy and try again
This'll reduce the ignition advance and reduce / stop and detonation

just had my engine looked at ,they said the engine is fine . think its coming from the manifolds since the pre cats were removed .

daz bring the car back to me and i will go up the road in it and tell you what it is, like i said before by retarding it it shows the manifold gaskets are leaking

You rebuilt my engine about 2 yrs ago and it is fantastic thanks..

I get the same noise but only when the engine is very hot and under full load/hard acceleration.

Quiet as when temp around 80 but once into 90's after sitting in traffic etc symptons return..

Had precats out and also had manifold leak looked at 2k ago.

Any ideas... ?

Just seen 350 matt's post.

The Ignition advance tube is removed ( permanently) and stoppers over where hose went.
