Hi folks,

The East Anglian Practical Classics show is just a week away, and we have 10 people + cars already booked. However the nice organiser has sent me 5 spare passes, so if anyone wants to join us please let me know. Please note this is a Show so the cars need to be of suitable 'PH' standard (I expect some of you will want to get the beige Mondeo jokes out of your system so best do them now).

All we need now is decent weather smile

I have the sneaky suspicion that one's going to haunt you for a very long time, John.

And beige? yuck
I was thinking of a nice aubergine colourwinkhehe

ETA: Oh before I forget to ask, has there been any meeting point discussed, so we all go in en-mass?
John, do you know if BBQs are permitted at Eastern Farm Park?

If there's a demand for the BBQ at this show, from any the attendees, please let me know guys! biggrin

Darren, meeting point Toys R Us car park at 9.30am A12 / A14 junction near Ipswich. You should have had an email from John regarding this .

Re the BBQ, if allowed, this would be a good show for the BBQ to make an appearance. If I remember correctly, 2 years ago ther was very little food on offer on site and that that was on offer was very poor.
John can you check the BBQ situation ??

Well I don't know about 'haunt', all of us (bar one rather odd individual who has since gone away) agree. I mean, take your pick: (a) a car show worth going to (b) a supermarket car park. All agreed? Splendid!

Good idea, I'll ask and let you know. Many thanks for the offer, Chef Darren smile

I mailed him shortly after it was suggested - no answer yet. But it's only Wednesday.

As for the weather, I had to book all the sunny days for weddings, sorry! But we always get thunderstormed on once a year so at least we'll be getting it over with early!

BBQ update - not allowed due the H&S etc etc - we will set fire to the grass and destroy all the valuable cars.

So we'll save the effort for another show where they have the brains to realise that dropping half a beefburger onto wet grass will not destroy the universe.

Why does the HSE rule the world?! banghead

On another note....Do you still have another spare pass, John? And further to this, would a late arrival be able to pitch up with us, assuming I give them a pass before hand?
My parents may come for a day out, if the weather is good. That means the possiblity of an Aston on the PH stand biggrin

Yes, I have more passes and will bring them to the RV. As for late arrivals, well that's down to the gate marshals but they'd be hard pressed to turn away a DB9... I suspect that if they turn up with a cunningly prepared sob story your folks will be OK (but I can't guarantee it). Sometimes once it gets to the afternnon, they don't care too much.

OK, last orders. Here we go:

Paul Barker - TVR Griffith
Darren Gee - Mercedes
Adrian Swift - Viper GTS
Ian Venni - Corvette
Andrew Hounsfield - TVR Tuscan
Mike Gibson - TVR Cerbera
Steve Taylor - Sunbeam Lotus
John Simpson - TVR Griffith
Steve Keay - Westfield
Phil Ringwood - Dax Tojeiro
Fergus Ranson - GTM Libra (poss)
Graham Pascoe - Ultima (poss)

If the possibles can make it, that leaves three spare passes so if you fancy joining us just turn up at the A12/A14 junction, specifically the Toys R Us carpark opposite Tesco, where I'll be handing out the passes. Please assemble around 9.30am in time for a prompt 9.40am departure.

Andrew is kindly bringing his gazebo so if we get showers there's somewhere to hide!

Hi Guys,
Just a quickie to say thank you for making me feel very welcome at my first PH event.

Sorry i left a little early, i saw the dark clouds and thought i would make a run for it!

I enjoyed the blat on the way home, through the back lanes with Steve, although was disappointed he didnt attempt to get some air on the hump back bridge.

Anyway, hopefully see you again soon. (Darren i will do my best to bring the CLK Black series next time).

Cheers

Gary
