My car is still not picking up properly, even with the new cams and decent fuel in it. Before I go to the expense of replacing the coil packs and HT leads (although they seem to be working fine, but I have no idea how old they are and so they probably need doing anyway) has anybody used that redex injector cleaner stuff?

I was thinking of bunging a bottle of that through it to see if it shifts anything minor. I thought, for a tenner or so, it could be cheaper than getting the injectors cleaned properly... but, like a lot of additives, I'm not convinced that it works.

Actually on that subject I bought one of these

http://cpc.farnell.com/SA01944/electrochemicals-ad...

filled it full of petrol and set it wirring. It seemed to do a good job of cleaning my injectors.

Yeah, I saw one of those after I had posted. They seem quite cheap. I was just thinking of asking if anybody had used one.

I just need the test bed then, mind, to check spray pattern and fill rates. biggrin

Not much point in spray pattern on mine. 4.5 you see. Any pretty spray pattern hits the back of the butterfly, then dribbles round the edges

what about that slick50 you are suppose to add it with the engine oil and leave it, they say it coats the inside of the engine with some sort of polymer protecting it from friction and stuff

Surely the 'spray' gets sucked into the combustion chamber before it gets a chance to collect on the perimeter of the inlets? I would hope so.
Or am I just talking 80llock5 hehe

Had mine done a little while ago. They were pretty clean and already balanced very well bank to bank.

There really is no spray pattern as such. They just hose out.

Sadly not the fuel will impinge on anything in the inlet and collect and puddle up whenever it has the chance.
I would interested to know if anyone has tried a set of high pressure fine atomisation injectors in a cerb in conjunction with sequential injection, the layout of a cerb intake kind of points to a good gain with this set-up.

Wait a minute, wait a minute...

So what your all saying is that the injectors spray the fuel all over the butterflies and then the petrol drips into the chamber?

This sounds an absolutely crap system!

I'm surprised that the AJP makes 400bhp.

Is this the norm for an engine like this or is it just an odd design?
