Annoying public reaction whilst on an Emercall

Pretend that you are driving on a 30min Emercall in your Traffic car around the M25.
What do you think would be the most annoying thing that the motorist in front of you can/will do as you come up behind them?
The most *annoying* would probably be something like forcing you to watch Jeremy Beadle on a TV in their rear window. The most likely/dangerous is panic braking. Why people do this I will never understand, simply stick you foot down and pull in ASAP.
I would have to agree on stopping rather quickly in the outside lane
1) How dumb do you have to be do even consider doing that!!!!?!?!
2) Could cause major pileup
Usually the "I can sit at 50 in the outside lane and dont have to move for anyone." brigade for this one I would imagine...

Theres nothing nicer than someone who pulls over in good time...good use of mirrors.
The worst thing in my experience is the person who looks in a mirror and then hits the brake....hhmmmmm.
You also have to careful that they just dont slow down to a stop in lane 3.
I remember once being in a convoy of 3 marked cars going up the M1 to Sheffield and the roads were quiet.
We were all sitting in lane 3 at 90mph when i looked in my mirror to see a repmobile about 3metres off my bumper and he was flashing his headlamps.
We all pulled over expecting that he wanted to speak to us but he just accelerated away.
Naturally i followed and stopped him and asked why he was flashing.
I could not believe his reply," Iam late for an important meeting in Leeds".
It did make me smile at the sheer balls..lol...he must have been a Giraffe in his former life with a neck like that.

I once flashed at and hooted at an unmarked car that was straddling the middle lane of the Cat and Fiddle road. I was on the wrong side of the road eyeing up an overtaking manouvre when the Volvo was lingering there (I didn't realise it was a plod car of course).
He pulled out of the way sharpish so I blasted past with a wave and overtook two more cars.
Turned out they were in the middle of the road because they were attempting to film another car. They got me on video and everything
No charge though (not that I wasn't bricking myself) as I didn't do anything wrong. Me, relieved? Not half!

Hmm . . . if this is true . . .
. . . . then how did you miss this chap. .
and, more to the point, if the roads were quiet, why were you
- perhaps waiting for the car in front to pull over?
Sorry, I couldn't resist, I'm feeling a little
today, and the devil told me to do it

I havent/cant tell you what mission we were on or what we were carrying.........thats why we were in lane 3.

Unfortunately I believe this (to some extent) may be the result of the (in my opinion) over-zealous speed enforcement of late, when people see plod behind them (or also a speed camera), their instant reaction is "is it me? am I speeding" and instantly react and hit the brake pedal...they then don't accelerate out of the way etc, as they don't want to get caught for speeding. It is hard for these people to tell that you aren't after them and that if they speed up (for example to overtake and pull-in) they fear being "done" for it.
I sympathise with the BiB on this as it will slow them down getting to possibly life-threatening situations.
Maybe this is a symptom of the apparent opinion that road-safety is all to do with speed, and removes the ability for the driver to decide what is a common-sense speed.
I myself have speeded up to well over the speed limit in order to let fire-engines/ambulances follow me at speed on local b-roads which they can't reasonably overtake on safely, and I don't want to hold them up getting to the fire/casualty quickly...but if I came across a scamera I would have to slow down to the limit....I can't afford any points.....which would be a shame when enforcement overcame common sense.

I agree with some of your points but must add that its not totally down to speed enforcement. Some are drivers whose standard of driving is somewhat lacking.
I could go on all day telling stories about driver behaviour, some of which you will have all seen.
I remember driving Northbound on the M1 to find a lady driver doing about 20mph in lane 3 and with her offside indicator on.
When we stopped her (that was a drama in itself) she stated that she was looking for a break in the central barrier in which to turn around.......sadly, there are a fair share of drivers like this who are nice people but put them behind the wheel of a car and they are downright dangerous.

Could I ask perhaps a slightly dumb question.....what is a "30min Emercall" ?
I'm assuming an emergency call which you have to attend in less than 30mins ?
Sorry, yes its an Emergency call which can last about 30mins.....nothing to do with response times.
