750MC @ Silverstone paddock incident
Discussion
I have to say that I was amazed at the complete idiocy of the Forumula Student driver who, after wringing the tits off his car up and down the runway area, then managed to embed himself head on into a parked Skoda after locking up at about 70-80mph.
What this idiot was doing treating the paddock as his own private test session is anyone's guess!
The fact that he was endagering competitors and their crews/families/publics lives seemed to make no difference to him.
Oh, and perhaps now he'll realise why doing so wearing shorts, a T-shirt, no shoes, an unfastened helmet and no harnesses is a bad idea.
Harsh - yes.
Justified - absolutely!

One of the S'stone marshals works in the same office as me - the guy wasn't as seriously injured as was first suspected. Knackered shin bones though so he won't be walking for a while.
Does anyone know which University he is from?

Open University I reckon!
There will soon be guidelines going to all teams about testing these cars. They are not designed for outright speed or joy-riding. I have bought this matter to the attention of the top man. These cars are designed for specified controled tests only. When competing the engines are only allowed to be fired up in designated areas. I hope the driver, whoever he is has learnt a lesson.
