I'd like a bit more noise. Anyone put (or even heard) a Tubi or anything else on an LP640?

Simon George has, believe he removed it tho and just sticked with the stock item (valve removed)

Adding on from the video above....you can see/hear Adam's LP640 as he drives past the person taking the video footage. Roll onto about the the 41 second mark.

Thanks - that Capristo sounds good and LOUD. Is it dual mode like on the Ferrari? That is too loud for most of my driving.

I had the Tubi on my LP. It sounded awesome, not too loud or boomy but aggressive enough to be truly characteristic of the car. After about 1000 miles the car developed a slight howl which added to the whole aural experience. My work colleagues could hear me from a distance away but that was not just down to volume.

To me sound is one of the most important things on a car and the LP Tubi was one of the best sounding cars I have ever owned. Second place goes to my CS with the complete Tubi ensemble (manifolds, cats, muffler).

I never heard the Capristo but search on here as I recall people saying they were not that impressed with the sound of it.

I didnt fit a Tubi on the LP640 cos we use it on the track so much it would be a pain to keep removing it. A good compromise is disconnecting the exhaust valves which takes 2 mins but improves the sound a hell of a lot as Jonny said.

We have had an LP in before now with a Capristo system fitted. It was switchable which was just as well because it was nothing short of deafening!!

I nearly killed the old chap next door by starting it up in the morning to come to work!!

The Americans seem to rave about ms racing exhausts http://www.msracing.net/ .
I personally think the tubi sound is hard to beat. There is appparantly however a question as to whether some of the louder exhausts actually loose power rather than gain it. Either way an aftermarket system will be a lot lighter than the standard one.

Larini also make one if your looking at options.

I've heard this first hand (was there). It was BLOODY DEAFENING!

I heard the sound of it been driven hard for a good 5 minutes before it arrived at leeds castle, and then once it arrived and Adam revved it, it absolutely shattered the air. I was shaking for a about 10 minutes afterwards, although I was taking a photo of the back of the car when he was revving.

I would say it was too loud, and didn't sound quite as nice as standard either. If you value your ears then get the Tubi.

Thanks for the suggestion. I had this easy mod done today and I'm very happy with the result. I've only driven it back from the dealer but the tone (and volume) of the exhaust at low revs has improved greatly. It now sounds like a Lambo should with a moan on acceleration and more howl.

I'll try this for a while before I bother with the Tubi idea. smile
