As we're off to France in a couple of weeks I decided to get hold of a cradle for my PDA (which I use for sat nav).

Found a cheap one on ebay which looked ook and it arrived tonight...

First issue was running an extension lead for the cig lighter through to under the dash for power...

Tucked this up behind the dashboard (a couple of spare ports just in case):

Mounting the cradle wasn't a particulary elegant solution but it does the trick. Had to use a couple of screws to keep it attached to the dash! (I'll paint these black at some point). Notice the holes from the last handsfree kit (pre purchase)

Power lead runs from behind the dash through to the cradle

Very nice and tidy job Phill thumbup

The cradle looks quite heavy. Is there any fear of the screws coming away?

It's this one - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&am... and it weighs next to nothing. I have it angled so that the bottom corner is resting on the centre console to stop it vibrating.

Need to get a bluetooth handsfree now

I'm taking the opportunity to upgrade my headunit at the same time as getting hands free by purchasing one of these:

It looks relatively subtle for an aftermarket headunit too.
