Looks great, what sat nav unit are you using? I was thinking of doing that and maybe building in a rear view camera does yours support another input?

Cheers, Rich

Hi Graeme!

Yeah I know the garage is a a bit sad!! Think I 've got some kinda build/clean dis-order....hehe Seem to have got stuck at the wiring stage for ages but on the move again now so quite pleased with progress - I've probabaly got another 2-3 weeks before work takes priority again so probably be next spring now before I hit the track......so plenty of time for you to catch-up!

Like what you've done with the Vauxhall switchgear....seriously considered using same....actually finalizing mounting details for mine is a job on the 'to do' list....so thanks for posting your pics as it's given me a couple more ideas......

Rich,

Unit is by Pioneer & off the top of me 'ed it's the AVIC-D3BTi unit......pretty cool bit of kit that has all the goodies and mimics your ipod interface. Has plenty of external inputs and yup supports front and rear cameras. I'm using the lastest camera from Alpine which is a nice bit of kit allowing for 3 different viewing angles.

Regards, Simon

Looks awesome - you couldn't take a photo of the gap between the caliper and rim could you? smile

Where did you get your cill covers from? Is it flat carbon or curved?

Cheers

Thanks Guys...

Yup accelerator is top hinged as pere original corvette ......

Carbon covers are one-offs made from reverse moulds taken from the ali covers I had shaped to fit.......nort quite exact copies though as inside cockpit edge was modified with an extended lip to return down into cockpit i.e. carpet top edge now runs under this lip.....hope that makes sense!

I'll try and get a rim/caliper shot later today when the rain stops!! Remind me if I forget!!!

Question for Simon if you are monitoring...

Does the Pioneer unit fit ok? I'm working on the AC at the moment, want a unit like the pioneer but it looks like it's going to foul the AC outlets? What have you done for this, or is there just enough room?

Cheers

For what it is worth, originally I wanted ICE but drifted away from the idea as the build progressed. Partly because the project took so long and I had too much time on my hands to think about it I decided that I would like ICE after all and like Stig, chose the AVIC-1 from pioneer. Although I have only had the car on the road for a short while I don't think that I have used the ICE for more than a few minutes, THERE IS NO POINT. I am even contemplating removing it yes

Well, I'm thinking about trips to Spa and the Ring, and even if that only happens once, having something in will be worth it for that alone. Having built in sat nav and rear view camera is also a must as I have the directional ability of Stevie Wonder.

With reference to the AV unit I have now fitted the KOS-V500 with sat nav its a hide away unit with a remote screen suports ipod or USB mem stick for music, screen fits between the roll bars at the top, you can also get a small screen. hope this makes sense and fit rear veiw camera.
