It wasn't even a nice green! if you can't get your tyres scrubbed into the edges then you really shouldn't use these tyres :-/
I dont think you should use them full stop!!!!
Arnt they remoulds anyway!!!!

Hi. This is Tania - R1-400's girlfriend. I'm using my mate Purps sign on as she is registered here.
What Tim said is not true. Martin did not have Tomahawks on his 400. They were Dunlops I think (ask Jamesb1 if you want to). Martin did have Tomahawks on his R1 and raved about them.
I ride on Tomahawks. The bloke who makes them is a friend of mine and I know plenty of other people who do - even track days and racing.
Please check your facts before you post things

Tania, Whilst certain facts in Tim's post may be wrong there is no denying that they are remoulds.
I personally would not trust my life on remoulds. I have known and still work with tyre dealers that fit high performance tyres to cars and they won't touch remoulds with a barge pole.
The reason is that the carcass may be damaged but unnoticeable. Even their website FAQ says they only do a visual check: www.tomahawktiresltd.com/cycleart/faqs.htm
There doesn't seem to be any sure way to gurantee that the carcass is 100% For example was the car/bike ridden on a flat/low pressure tyre for any distance? Has it been bounced up/down kurbs? These can seriously damage a carcass.
What you choose for yourself is of course your own choice. I'm sure that they do good safety checks and so forth but still I'm not convinced and certainly wouldn't ride on them. Just my 2p worth
