Hi everyone I am new to the forum. I own a 2006 Pontiac GTO. It is Cyclone Gray Metallic, auto, and has the stock 17s. I hope that I can help answer some question/information about stuff that you do not have acces to, and stuff/information that I dont have.

The GTO had 17"s? Wow, minimum wheel size for the CV8 was 18", and VXR's were 19".
Welcome to the forum!

Welcome Afroman. I might as well get in there first and say "post some pics". Have you got any pics of the GTO you can put up?

how come the GTO got battered with the ugly stick before being sold over there and how come the cars seem to look like they are on stilts?

The one at the Pod on Saturday sounded lovely but looked like a genital wart and the ride height seemed much higher

Yeah we only have two options for rim sizes 17 an 18. Any bigger and the tires will rub. The roads in the US are generally horrible that is way it may be higher, but it shouldn't be since we use identical suspension parts. Speedo and the tach are nice, and are painted according to the body color of the partiicular car. The only choices we have when we bought the GTOs were body color, manual or auto, rim size, and occasionally interior color. I'll post up pics later for everyone. Still trying to figure how to post pics.

I have done a few things to my GTO.
I put Hoen bulbs in the headlights.
Tinted the windows.
Painted the GTO rear bumper insert.
Billet Oil cap.
Pontiac GTO hat between the rear seats.
It is basically stock, but my freinds GTOs are not. We even have an LS7(Z06) powered GTO around where I live.

Its a beautiful car Afroman clap Unlike the one at Santa Pod last weekend the ride dos'nt look to high, nor does it look like its been hit with an ugly stick(Stig said it) However on a different note thae weather in the background has made me feel a bit jealousgrumpy

Nice one thumbup I would never go so far as to agree with Stigmund, but I do think the Pontiac grille spoils the look a bit. I'm guessing it's a VZ? (IIRC the only Monaro to go to the US, and the reason why my boot is tiny)
As for weather, it's mid winter here and sunny, low 20s degC for the next few dayswink

ETA: I'm also surprised at the 17" wheels, CV8s here had 18" with 235/40/18 tyres. I'm guessing you have taller tyres?
