Hi All

Sorry to drag up an old covered subject, have been through other posts and not found conclusive answer, has anyone had any success with a claim on an AA warranty, my customer protect warranty runs out shortly and want to know who to go with next.
Any comments please!

Thanks

TD

Yes several of us. You do have to be VERY careful to meet the requirements of the claim. For example, you must be seen by Roadside assist first. I once lost a claim because my car was in a vulnerable place so I had my 'friendly' garage tow me onto their forecourt. I then called roadside assist who were able to confirm I needed to carryout a warranty repair. The claim failed because in their eyes I had made other arrangements by having the car towed to a garage.

I did make a successful claim some time later. I had the warranty leaflet in the car so I studied it before contacting the AA. I then followed their every instruction to the letter and was successful.

My advice is to let them run the show. Don't try to help unless the AA people tell you that you can. If you do that then any covered breakdown should result in a successful claim.

I made a number of cliams (all paid) over two years. I had the £99 cover (not sure if they still do this one now). Three claims per year upto £1000ea - £25 excess.
I had the following done: -
Alternator
Starter motor
Steering rack
Radiator

I was lucky with the steering rack and radiator! Got my moneys worth smile

Does that mean that you can only claim for things that would require a tow to the garage (e.g. I've just replaced my diff bushes - could I have claimed for that if it'd been inspected by the roadside boys first??)

No, anything that is on the list of items covered and renders the car unusable. For example, as long as it is covered say your electric window failed in the down position, then you wouldn't be able to secure your car. This would therefore be covered.

Made plenty of claims with the AA. No probs.
So long as you breakdown and they cant repair at roadside then no probs (covered clutch parts, starter motors etc for me).
My 'proper' warranty was expensive and didnt pay out for an engine re-build.
