Drove a VXR8 on a track yesterday.....and it was....
Discussion
dull.
Bought a cheap VXR track day - happily queued up for the VXR8 expecting a wild a crazy time but was very under whelmed.
It was like helming a fast boat - with no impression of speed and a lot of roll.
Considering they will be able to be bought for about £0.50 in a few years I thought they might make a good cheap, yet sensible, toy but now not so sure.
On the other hand the VXR corsa was a hoot and the VXR Astra was a genuinely quick and well handling car - they had a nurburgring edition helmed by "insert name of well known race driver i don't know" - it was truly incredible what he could make that car do. I was unaware you could drift a front wheel drive car!!
One of teh instructors had just attended the TVR track day..not sure which one. He was pretty vauge when I asked him what he thought of TVR's!!
