My list of Vanquished foe includes DB9 AMV8 Vanquish Ferrari 360, 430 and 575M Audi RS4+6 All the BMW M range and a fair few Porsche also.
God I love Vmax
LOL!! Dont ever advertise yr car as never raced or rallied! God I love Vmax
DB9 - there just for warming up aint they, my mother walks faster, if you got taken out by one get a charger fitted, you will then start looking for something faster to chase!
He's right - when you first get a blower you think "f*ck me this is fast" but as you get used to it and every other car on the road just feels like it's getting in the way. I've seen off an agressively driven Audi R8 that was right up my chuffa but don't mess with Turbo Porsches (esp GT2) - they are seriously fast!
As Jamie will testify you soon want something faster. That's why I'm planning to get 600rwhp out of mine.

Is a DB9 about the same as a Jag XJR? Cos I happily "saw orf" one of those a few weeks ago. Not sure the guy quite knew what to make of my car, he clearly didn't know what it was... the old trick of leaning forward over the dash as he's trying to get in the boot whilst also trying to read the badge on the back. An effort only beaten by the guys hanging out of the transits windows trying to film my rear on their mobile phones (in the third lane of a motorway!!)
DB9 v XJR er NO V12 500hp in DB9.
I had a non SC Monaro (had heads and cam package) and took out a few DB9s....pushing past one at 140 - 150 leptons (on private road of course) really hacked him off especially as he did the tailgating and light flashing bit first.
Watch for older AMV8 twin SC they are bloody quick....5.3 V8 with a SC for each bank of 4 cylinders sweet..

Audi S5 fancy headlights came up behind me the other week.
Got a bit peeved with him tailgating me so thought i'd teach him a lesson........
...... .Bl@@dy thing didn't move an inch back though
, although he didn't gain on me either.
The mrs and nipper were in car so had to stop the game before it got serious, so just turned to the mrs and said..."I need a supercharger......" and left it at that.
Hopefully she'll get the hint and start saving for Xmas!

I've gotten use to people looking at the car now, so much so that I don't even notice it. It's only if a passenger is with me and they say "he/she was having a good old look". The old white vanners never let me down though, they are always hanging out the passenger window have a good old look, waving, giving the thumbs up, or nodding in appreciation.
I don't really get challenged a lot. I had an R8 up my chuff on the M2, but he didn't push it. I don't get many boy racers trying it on. Some old fart in a old shape focus bombed past me once giving it the bigun, but I didn't give it a second thought. The only time I've bitten is when some grey haired pony tailed old dude in a shiney new BMW coupe (don't know what model) decided to show off to his trophy wife sitting in the passenger seat. He backed off pretty quick when he realised he wasn't fast enough to get away

other than the fact because you can, why? I mean surely that is going to need a lot of uprated components and some serious modifcations to the rear wheels
Dunno really, I guess I want something a bit special. Owning a Monaro doesn't make any sense so why not make it the best it can possibly be? Ask Harry why he's creating his TT monster - now that's nuts!
Mark is putting a quote together for me which should be interesting!
Have you sold yours yet?

I guess cos as long as we keep modding we don`t have to get a Volksy Camper like some who are obviously bored with their car

far easier and cheaper to buy a crate engine from the US - spent a lot of time looking into it and in terms of cost its the most sensible way forward, - and you can have them build it with your own choice of components. Then all Mark has to do is drop the old one out, bolt up the new bits and away you go - you even have the option then of keeping the old engine as a spare or selling it to recoup some of your costs. Amazing what you can get for under 5k before shipping and import duty.

If the ro sells great, if not great not too fussed either way but I would like to take a camper around Europe and live the hippy life (being too young to have missed it first time round
)600bhp is not to much... in fact after V. Max it aint enough!
I also found that once very warm my larger rear tires allowed full throttle off the line almost which was good fun so no issues using it. Saying that though it was very hot and both myself and Jez must have been suffering a big decrease in HP due to it.

The ECU is designed to start pulling shed loads of timing out once it heads north of 30*C which in summer and supercharged its likely to be all the time. Normally intake temp is around 5-10* over ambient anyway.
Another negative for the FI setups, which all helps contribute to their relatively bad performance in the BSFC stakes.

Thought as much as first run of the day (not recorded!) it pulled 6th gear but the rest of the day it would just stall in 6th. Had to takes Jez's advise and nail 5th to get 175 out of it. I've got an intercooler spray bar half fitted to cool the intercooler more, must get my finger out and finish plumbing it in! Think my louvers worked though as I did not go into limp mod on over temp like Jez did and the temp gauge didnt move, just got alot of heat soak into the SC.
Having said the above though, it still outdraged a new M5 off the line and all the way through the gears so I should be happy! (he wasnt!)
