Pictures from last weekend. 180 km route of which 45 km is pavé of 28 sections. Brutal cobblestone. You take it easy on the road section's then hammer it on the pavé, it doesn't hurt so much ( it's still b••••y painful) if you can carry some speed over the cobblestones. Fantastic atmosphere and organisation. A bit of rain the night before, which kept the dust down, but not slippery. Held every 2 years. I think I'll be back in 2010.

Riding time on the computer showed 7 1/2 hours. We stopped for 4 punctures. Spent 10 - 15 mins at the 3 food stops and always re–grouped after the pavé. So add at least another hour. The guy covered in mud was not the only person to stack it. The first pavé section was muddy/wet with water standing along the sides. Caught out a lot of people. The drinks were at the food stops. The red was fruit and the green mint flavored ! There was also energy drinks, and loads of food, all free. Couldn't fault the organization.

PS. There are 3 distances 90 180 and 250 km. Our 180 route included all the pavé, the 250 km route just adds another 70 km of road. If you do the 250 km route youl'l need lights as it starts from 4am!
