Ted

Why the raised eyes at the Opel badge for the VX220? All Vauxhall's are badged as Opel's on the Continent so it's only logical that it should be the same in Russia. It's only the UK that insists on badging them as Vauxhall's although I'm not sure how much longer that will go on for.

Good to see the pseudo-Brit cars doing well over there though. Any signs of a TVR dealership

A visit from some AK47 wielding Mafiya hitman enquiring about his engine rebuild may galvanise Peter Wheeler to sort out his product quality issues asap! (so I would have thought there's absolutely no chance of a TVR dealership then)

I just take the view that it's a British product and - particularly if the Russians are loving all things British currently - then they should badge it with a British badge, not a German one.

Yes, it would take a very brave man to try selling TVR's to the Russian market. I once worked for a company that sold Tenerife timeshare to them - our Moscow office manager had a gun put to his head by unhappy client while they ransacked the place and emptied safe.

A shame really because they have some excellent TVR driving roads near Moscow and police who'll turn a blind eye for some $$$.

True...

Hey, maybe even stick a "Lotus" badge on it...

Yeah I'd even thought about a discreet Lotus badge on mine to poke fun at some of the "badge snobs" !
