BMW option decoder

Having used the online Porsche option decoder at www.kindel.com many times I wondered if anyone knew of a similar site for BMW's?

Googling brought up two that simply confirm the model and measures. See link: http://www.bimmerspecialist.com/support/index.php?...

I am really after a tool to give a definitive list of options specified from a chassis number or indeed a decoder for general option codes.

Any pointers without having to speak direct to BMW?

Just call your dealer and they can give you a list of options fitted to the car, so long as it is your car. .

Cheers, but when looking at and evaluating a number of cars to buy one, I think my local bmw dealer may get a little miffed. Second or third owners don't always know the options they are sitting on.

It may be the only option, but as mentioned above there are decoder sites for Mercedes, Porshe and Audi, but it appears none for BMW... unless anyone knows different?

Call BMW customer services, they always tell you the information, you can email them too.

I dropped BMW UK an email and they got back to me with the details within a day. They didn't ask if i was the owner(which i wasn't at the time!).

In fact, they'll tell you even if it isn't your car. They can also tell you which dealers have serviced it.
