Early Soundgarden at their best! Odd, loud, non-conformist grunge with Kim Thayil at his experimental best with regards to strange altered tunings for the guitar.

I've got two jaw-dropping moments in video.

I first watched this as an 11 year old, and my flabber was never so gasted:

16 years later, I was flabbergasted again:

Freebird by Lynyrd Skynyrd.

First time I heard it properly was only 10 years ago and I was driving at the time and the radio station played the full 10 minute version.
I had to pull over as that guitar solo kicked in.

The greatest driving song ever written.

That video stopped you in your tracks? Each to their own, and all that, but you're easily pleased.

hehe

When that song was first released, I was DJ'ing in a nightclub that had a massive projector screen (cutting edge technology in those days!) - The record companies used to send me copies of music videos on VHS tape... and I would drop the odd video into my sets from time to time.

It was hugely amusing to play that video and watch the blokes jaws hit the floor.... and then get slapped by their women for drooling!

Same thing happened again with the Eric Prydz video for "Call on me" and Benny Benassi's "Satisfaction" many many years later. (Although the venue I was working in then had progressed from VHS tape to a decent hard drive playout system!)

Damn work for not letting me view youtube!

The original (uncensored) version of Durans Girls on Film - aged 13, watching a video of mud wrestling, girls icing their nipples .... it definitely had an effect on me.
