Hi Mike,
Not sure what its off of but if you're after one, you can have mine, don't need it with the LS1.

maybe you don't but as I've found out off another forum once fuel is passing through the rails and through the return, them fuel temp in the tank increases quite a lot and as you may know, it is beneficial to have anything going in your engine kept cool Not sure what its off of but if you're after one, you can have mine, don't need it with the LS1.

Hi Paul,
Yeah......its what a std LS1 uses. I'm basically following what this guy has done.

From his description, I've got the Bosch 044 pump and Aeromotive regulator. See the pic of his setup in the boot. Fuel is supplied to the reg, where it is returned to the tank locally the other take off runs to the front of the car and the injectors.
Its the same system used on the Monaro's, Camaro's etc.
If I was going to use a fuel cooler I'd probably use one from a BMW X5. They're like little finned radiators. IIRC the Cerb one is linked into the aircon circuit.
BTW, your guy in Aus can help me out with the diff ratio.

If that's what I'm thinking then I'm surprised. The only fuel passing through the rail is that passed by the injectors, so in slow traffic you get a lot of heat in the rail/fuel. Youve got to have a pretty nifty temperature trim for the lowering of the fuel viscosity with temperature, and vapourisation is always an issue. Is it really true that this is an OE way of supplying fuel to the rail? Seems madness to me.Yeah......its what a std LS1 uses. I'm basically following what this guy has done.

How strange. I think there's a reference to this type of fuel delivery system in PPC either this month or last month and it caused some problems with heat soak into the rail and consequent issues with vapourisation etc. I wonder how the OE kits get over these problems? Are they running very high pressures these days IE well in excess of the 50/60psi you'd need to stop vapourisation on a hot day?

Yeah, I don't think its the best system. 58psi static pressure referenced to atmos, same as Cerb. But the fuel rail volume is quiet small so maybe the fuel doesn't hang around for long. With the different fuel rails for the blower I've got there are extra connections I could use and using the regulator I've got, I could plumb in a return system.
Anyway, I can't fit the air con compressor so won't be needing the original cooler.
