Mine is the B60 engine, in its final 4.9 incarnation, with triple SU's.

So, what's yours?

I think I'm with BG on this one, though the 4.9 in my '57 Continental only had two carbs, I am sure. In what Bentley did it have three?

dont know, but the twin carbed 4.9 in my dads S1 has had its card seriously marked after the fuel pipe between the block fitting bracket and the chassis split. it took 2 hours of skin scraping finger cutting agony before i finaly reappeared from underneath it clutching the remains of it.

bloody thing.

runs miles better now both cars are getting a decent skill of petrol though, i'll give it that......

Modified ones, did you ever see the late Christian Hueber's rally prepared R type Continental, built by Padgetts?

I only have experience of the 6.75 litre V8, not that that's a hardship. A few flakes on the enamel under the bonnet, but runs beautifully, and just sounds so unstressed and cool.

That is an awesome website, though. I'll know what to do when I get my hands on a Continental.

Never seen it in the flesh, but always thought it was rather exciting. Padgett's website is very interesting. Mouth watering, in fact!

One of the nicest, it has to be said, was the old Aston 3995cc six.
