Sorry for hijacking the post Lucky, but V8Owner-You're good. The US Govt. should hire you to find Osama Bin Laden. That is my GTR at the Cars and Coffee event in Irvine, California. I've got 600 miles on the car now. The event is held every Saturday from 7am to 9am at the Ford Design Facility parking lot. There were about 400 cars there and it was British Car Day, so we had our own area with about 50 British cars. There was one green Can Am there too. His name is Eric Kimbro. On the way up, I had to teach a Lambo a lesson about Ultimas.

Here is a linky to the event site:

Paul that looks like a great event.. if only it wasnt so many miles away! Your car certainly seems to be pulling a crowd!

Pete.. looks like good work.. your car looks very clean (chassis ect) you been 'back to blacking' it while the engine has been away?

So ditto, you failed! Last night you told me you would have Lucky's engine running by the end of the day, maybe the fumes slowed you down!

If I do nothing else this year, I want to do that.

There doesn't seem to be much action on the website. I mailed them but no response. I asked if we could run our own Ultima comp within their event.

Entries should be accepted from tomorrow on the www.fightingtorque.org website.
we met with Toyo today who are sponsoring the event with goodies being given away to all competitors from goody bags, to T shirts & jackets.
This time your entry number is your raffle ticket.
Lots going on, promo girls, maybe a drift team to show their stuff, along with MX5 challenge and a slalom event.
There should also be a limited number of public access tickets available.
We also expect a guest with a rather special carwink to be attending (hopefully) - We should know this week.

All sounding good.

Lets hope we see as many Ult there as possible. Should really sort the men from the boys, and give a good feel for one car against another.

I think I said in another post that I'll happily donate last year's trophy to the fastest ultima on the day.

Another few picks:

Should be cranking her over next weekend. biggrin

Incidentally, am I reading this right:

Have I fitted the thermostat the right way round?

The hose on the left comes frpm the pressure out pump, the one on the right goes back to engine.

What would happen if the thermostat was the wrong way around?

Damn - hit an iceburg!!

Filled the box with 3.5 litres last night. This morning, there was a lovely pool of oil that had dribbled out of the bell housing, through the clutch fork hole. Looking through it I could see a drip on the underside of the release bearing. Damn, again.

A call to BS Motorsport in the morning.

These things are sent to test our resolvewink

Lucky, out.

Bummer, still it could be just the bearing seal which is easy to replace, and can be sourced from 911design I think for a few quid, just a pain for you to have to take the box back off again, but practice makes perfect......didn't make me feel any better when someone helpfully said it to me either. Def time for a drink
