10 previous owners

hi All,

I have been looking to sell my car and replace it with an elise and someone has offered me a swap. But its a 98 R reg and has 10 previous keepers showing on the log book.

It really puts me off the car and when I come to sell it, it will have ha 12 previous owners!

Would it put anyone else off or would you just go on the condition of the car?

I value my car at approx £7500 so this is what i would want in return, when I come to sell the elise.
Its an Azure with 65k and hard top..

thats a lot of owners.

I'm not one for being massively bothered about the number of owners.. but that is excessive.

I think it would be hard to sell when you'd finished it. A dealership would knock it a LOT (they'd give you fk all) and it would put off private buyers, unless you managed to hide the fact/or they didnt ask.

I'd also check the car very thoroughly, cant help thinking they would be a reason why its consistantly swapped hands every year or more.

pretty much my thoughts exactly to be honest. I had said in my mind that I was going to walk away, but given how hard it is in the current climate to sell a car i just thought it was the easiest option..

you'd just be landing yourself in even more st to be honest mate..

someone will buy your car eventually... dont rush into buying an elise which isnt the right one!

I dont think an R reg elise, with 65k and 12 OWNERS can be worth anymore than 6 grand either imo

Too many owners IMO - Try and find one thats been lovingly looked after by a small number of owner/owners.

Also a thought - people tend to rag their motor when its a) brand new to show off to mates etc, or b) when they're getting rid and dont really care anymore. That cars therefore possibly been through the mill 10 fold.
