Hi there,

Had a great day out at the Supercar Sunday event at the Heritage Motor Centre today.

Turn out was a little down on previous years partly due to the fact that Lamborghini Wycombe had not organised the supercar convoy from their premises as they are at Le Mans assisting Team Modena.

Still plenty of stunning cars on show. Highlight for me was getting my first look around an Lamborghini LP40 Roadster and also seeing a couple of Wiesmanns in the flesh.

Here are my pics, was going to try some arty ones but the crowds made it quite tough so I decided not to bother.

Lets start with a few Diablos – great turnout today, everything from original 2WD up to the last UK 6.0VT.

Staying with Lamborghini – there were a couple of Murcielagos

and now some shots of the LP640 Roadster

The Wiesmanns were quite nice, the MF4 sounded superb

Some of the other supercars on display

Not strictly a supercar I know but the Mercedes C63 AMG is phenomenal, the crackling sound from the exhaust is sublime

Hope you like the pics.

Regards

Tim

Andrew,

Did get a few, but it looked odd in the photos, did you leave the lifting system in the up position as the car looked like an off roader whenever I took a pic.

Nice car by the way.

I noticed the SL that was sitting somewhat high at the front too - oops.

Thanks for the pics Tim, and good to meet you today (albeit briefly) smile

Super photos Tim! Yeah me and friend came down the M40 and stopped off at Warwick services for some breakfast, where there was the TVRS,Jaguar XK's and the green DB9. I took over 750 photos today, can't quite beleive it myself, just glad the weather stayed good throughout the day. Quite suprised to see the Range Rover Stormer in the museum, did you get chance to see it by any chance? Shame there wasn't a Veyron,K'egg,Zonda,Enzo,F50, F40 etc... oh well lol

Wondered whether the Superleggera was yours, andrew...

I had a nice day, shame I didn't meet anyone from here though you always feel a bit of a plonker going up to someone and asking if they're on PH!

Some nice cars on show, especially the red LP5000 Countach (sans rear spoiler) that was in better-than-when-it-left-the-factory condition. Had a chat with the owner and he was a top bloke.

Car of the day award goes to the Bugatti Type 35A, which everyone completely ignored. Probably the most valuable car there 'n' all. Made me die a bit inside. Oh well, all the better for me to appreciate I suppose! The owner was a proper gent and I had a fairly long chat with him.

Hi, was just wondering if anyone has any pics of my lil old car, since I left my digital camera at home and had to buy a disposable one!

Was the black Porsche 997 Turbo FJ08 LTV - but other than that, was a great day, me and the G/f loved it and saw some stunning cars, and had a nice chat to their owners, so if that was you, then was nice to meet you all!

That C63 belongs to Mosi who sometimes posts here. Well it will until he changes it, probably next week knowing the speed he gets through vehicles!

Likewise of all the Lambos... pre the Diablo. Must be nice to be so young and not remember the old cars like the Countach.
Thanks for the photos Tim.

Just joined the site after a lot of badgering from my pals.
Went along to Gaydon yesterday after reading about it on here.
What a great day. Thanks for the tip PHs.
The yellow Lambos stole it for me.
Can't help thinking that the owners of the purple Diablos have a bit of sexual confusion going on. One even had awful pink bits on the interior. Hello ducks!
If it's a Lambo, it has to be yellow. If its a Ferrari, it has to be red.
Great day out. Thanks to the organisers.
Roll on the next one.

That car belongs to a LCUK member - (he's not on PistonHeads), I spoke with him yesterday evening about not actually seeing him at SS (ruddy annoying the amount of people I missed!!).

That car has had extensive interior upgrading, is almost perfectly original otherwise and may well be seen on a PH advert soon as it's for sale!!!!

(and has more than survived any trauma session with Jemimah Klaxon!)

That purple Diablo (it's actually called viola) is owned by Diablo_Pete, who is a PHs member.
Pete is most certainly not gay. Just spoke to him and he reckons the women just love the colour of the car. Yes, even the purple & pink interior.
Wouldn't it be a sad world if all Ferraris were red, all Mercedes were silver and all Lambos were yellow.
Pete actually has a yellow Diablo SV too, which locals have probably seen (and heard) being driven around Portsmouth at warp factor 10, sucking children and Jack Russells into it's four exhausts as it passes.
Pete asked me to post this for him, as he is currently en-route to the body shop to have the Diablo beautified. You know, a pink steering wheel cover and some fluffy mauve seat covers. Oh, and some bunny stickers too.
