No Break lights or cruise

My break lights on my ute have just stoped working checked all lamps and fuses all ok my cruise is also not working i asume they are related does anyone have any ideas to whats happend?

yeh checked none blown thinkin it might be a switch under the peddle not sure though

if its the same as my yr 2000 GTS then there is a micro switch under the brake pedal for brake lights, mine needed "adjusting" as brake lights sometimes stayed on. guess its also related to the cruise control "off" function. easy to have a prod and see if the lights come on/off

i have done that as well nothink at all they are no staying on just not comming on

If the brake lights are activated then the cruise control will turn off. I would suspect there is an electrical fault that looks to the cruise control that the lights are on. Have you changed any thing else electrical recently? It would be worth disconnecting the rear lights and the centre brake light to see if the fault is in the car wiring or the lights themselves.

Take the brake light switch off or unplug the wire from the top of the switch and bridge the 2 wires together if the brakes lights come on you know its the switch that needs replacing.
If they dont and you know all bulbs and fuses are ok there has to be a wiring fault.
I bet its the switch....

just sorted it the third break light in the roll bar was open loop so non was working took roll bar off breaks work and car looks better to thanks for all you help guys
