Got my new Griff and have 2 questions
Discussion
Picked up my car at last on Saturday. 2 Questions though.
The original alarm packed up so a Clifford 650 was fitted, which I now notice wont lock the doors. I thought this feature had been disabled by teh last owner so I reset the system and made sure the lock door function is enabled, but no good. Funny thing is the lock door button on the dash is clicking, but wont lock doors either. Anyone know a TVR/Clifford wizard near Gloucestershire area. Alarms are not my forte!!
I need a new gearstick gatior in Portland grey. Am considering trying one of the numerous TVR breakers. Anyone bought trim from these guys, is it any good. Dont want any splits or damage to it you see. Its not leather if that helps.
Many thanks

I had a problem with the drivers door not locking last year (though I could hear the actuators clicking). It turned out that the small rubber pad that pushes on the piston at the bottom of the door (so that the door is recognised as closed) had fallen off. A nice new rubber foot from Maplin - the type that can be used for PC speakers - fitted just perfect. Took a bit of fiddling to get the new rubber pad in just the right place to ensure a good connection with the piston but other than that a simple fix.
Searched shops on E bay, no MR Gater any linky :-)
No idea where the alarm is to unplug it. There are a few Clifford dealers near me, so may just get one out if all else fails, I will try the procedure in booklet again to enable door locking. Pretty sure I did it right though yesterday.
Was wondering if by some fluke teh fuse had blown for the central locking, and all I'm hearing is the switch mechaniclaly clicking.

Unfortunately, Mr.Gaiter must have changed ID's... http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/mr.gaiter

Yep I'm near Stroud in Glos. Meeting could be good. We will have to sort something out and compare notes as it were.
If you're available come along to our group monthly meet on Sunday 29th around 13:00 at the Puesdown Inn on the A40 by Northleach (just east of Cheltenham). BTW our RO lives quite close to you at Avening and you will probably also see a bright red Griff around Stroud. Both of them not working though, seems odd. Although hang on, TVR electrics, anything is possible, hehe. I'll check it all out on weekend. I did consider that it may have been an overload and burnt them both out. My old Griff had the boot one go on it, but it never blew the fuse. Bit annoyed I never noticed this when viewing the car, grrr!!
Does the dash button run through a relay before the central lock ECU? If so, maybe you're hearing the relay pick? Maybe that's why you hear a click when using the button, but presumably hear nothing when you use the alarm fob? The fob I assume talks directly to the alarm ECU so you will hear nothing anyway.
All that seems to suggest to me is that the dash button is working correctly, and maybe the alarm fobs too. I would suggest it might be the alarm ECU or the central lock controller (ECU) that's your problem.
In the case of the alarm ECU, I'm pretty sure you back probe test for a voltage coming of one or more of the pins when you use the dash button or fob. If you don't have a voltage I would assume the alarm ECU is at fault. Like I said earlier though, I would unplug it for a few seconds then plug it back in. Many old type alarms I come across respond to this, including the one in my Griff.
If you find a voltage as suggested, then I would suspect the central lock controller, which would be simply find another the same and plug it in. I am of course assuming you've checked door switches, live feeds, fuses etc first.
