Can't you use the old flush trick as outlined here:

dot 5 is questionable as I believe it can bugger up rubber/plastic seals that are okay with dot 4. Dot 5.1 is fully synthetic and much more friendly to seals which was why I asked on the other thread about clutch fluid if it wouldn't be sensible to use it with its higher boiling point and lower water absorption. I read into this when I was going to do the brakes and you do have to be careful as the dot5 and dot5.1 are very different liquids.
