my mate has got a puncture in one of his S02's. The size is 255/35 ZR18. He spoke to bridgestone tyres about fitting a new S03 (same spec) and was told that it could not be fitted as it would inbalance the car, has anybody else had the same problem?

The tyre is on the rear and he doesn't really want to get a matching S03 for the other rear tyre.

Also, does anybody know where you can get S02 (the size above) in or around Newcastle??

any help would be great.

SO2's are pretty much defunct now - and I assume you mean SO2 PP (Pole Position) and not the *really* old SO2's?

I would most definitely replace both with SO3s - they have different characteristics. The tyre fitting place are correct- it would most definitely inbalance the car.

How worn is the other S02?

If it's not bad get your friend to change both rears for SO3's as rightly stated but sell the now spare "good" S02 on here in the classifieds, there might be someone out there who'll need one.

Is that the rear tyre? If so also had a pucture and had to replace both tyres so have an SO2 spare. E mail me offline if you want it (about 2/3 rds worn).

I spoke to the TVR dealer and the bloke said you shouldn't bother with the S03's, stiff, harder sidewall etc etc.

He did say go for the Toyo Proxes? What do you reacon?
