I have just had my engine rebuilt(1.8 20v T) with new pistons rods etc and after about 4 hrs running the first time it had knackered NO 1 big end bearing the crank and 1 rod so got it rebuilt and after 2 hrs this time nasty knock from bottom end.

Anyone else had ant big end trouble ?

I haven't had that problem before but i've always had the clutch/flywheel/crank/pulleys balanced as one. Have you had it all balanced together? Is the oil pump health? Has the crankshaft journels(sp?) been polished?

Loads of question! lol!

take it back to where you got it rebuilt and demand they do it again.

It is back at the engine builder as we speak getting done.

I have just read about getting the flywheel balanced etc in another post. I will make sure this gets done
