Diablo GT at Stamford Hall?
Discussion
For the second year in a row I have not been able to attend the Stamford Hall, Auto Italia show, but on You Tube I saw a short video of a black Diablo GT arriving at the show.
Can anyone confirm if it was a GT, as the car looked fantastic in black and I have not seen another GT in the UK other than DIW?

The black Diablo GT seen @ Stanford belongs to a Member of LCUK.
Slightly off-topic - that chap also owns a 'being rebuilt' Countach LP400, a Silhouette and his second Countach 5000S as well. He perhaps still owns or has an 'interest' in one of the first two arancio Diablo SV's to come to the UK in 1998 and he inherited his mum's beautiful Urraco 250S but he would agree that her little gem will never really be 'his' car...
He also used to own a Miura SV which hasn't been seen for over 10 years and a Anniversary Countach which was almost the meanest looking car ever with its hellish black interior and black paint and (as ever) a great mass of dead and dying insects all over the front, like all his cars have/had.
The silver Diablo GT belongs to an 'occasional' LCUK Member. It has the 'GTR' badge on the back because he ran one of the GTR race teams back in the day. His driver was some 200% better a racer than most, especially as many of the 'gentleman' racers were / are just over-monied yahoos with no real racing talent (witness the comedy of errors of their various lines around Eau Rouge at the GTR races at Spa versus his 'technician/craftsmans' line around the same bend - metronomically exact every lap...)
...but, that may well be the full count of UK based Diablo GTs at this time along with Lisa and Derek's orange frenzy - there have been others, I'm sure.
hey Paul - are you going to be able to get to any LCUK 'stuff' this year??
and, btw, ALL Diablo GT's are left hand drive!

Hi Dave and thanks for the very comprehensive back ground on what is obviously a very enthusiastic and dedicated Lambo fan. Does he take the GT to many of the club events??
I would like to attend some of the meetings this year but it all depends where work takes me.
I hope to see you all again soon.

The chap has only had the GT for a few weeks - so, he's not been anywhere much as yet (unless he took it to Le Mans last weekend, he's a Le Mans regular along with the rest of The Lambranos...) - it took him a while to get Sant'Agata to confirm that it was a real Diablo GT - as far as the DVLA and insurers are concerned, there are too many people making fake body bits that just look like GT parts it would seem.
I'm looking forward to seeing what's now his LP400 when the work is finished. It used to belong to the guy people might have seen with the vandalised Jalpa at the Auto Italia Autumn car day @ Gaydon last September but has been in a few large chunks for the best part of 15 years. AFAIK, it was originally dark blue but that's not a colour that suits an original shape Countach - Bonsai would be better, if 'out-of-period' in my opinion, maybe he should just go for green, green is good on 70's Lambos!!

no I'm 110% sure its not as V12 oooooooooooooooooH has red and Black interior..the one in Martins was all black... Jason Barker sold 7 or 8 GT's in the UK.... Orange would be the best colour for the LP400 I think

Stunning car.
Any chance that one was featured in Martin Brundle's Supercars?

yep - as per SW's car... a really 'flat' colour but one that still scrapes y' retinas after all these years - if I had so much as clue 1 about setting up a photo linking account, I'd get some pictures of that car on here.. as it is, I can always send a few to $H-F if he wants them...123quackers said:
