Oh dear, I had just about got around to liking these as they had amazingly powerful engines...now this . Lets just wait for the Porsche mid-size MPV to rival the scenic

Clever marketing from Porsche though. Get the masses drolling over the hot versions first, then dangle a basic version under their noses. Priced right, they'll sell by the bucket load.

Crikey that will be a slow old bus then as the R32 Golf that has the 3.2 vw engine is very disapointing as standard (does sound nice & handle well tho!)

remember now, the cayenne shares a lot of what's under the skin with the Volkswagen Touareg, whose base engine, like the Phaeton, is the 3.2liter V6. So, if Porsche can't sell the S fast enough, then something else needs to go in the chassis to make sure the whole future of the truck isn't tanked. I'm mostly interested in whether the DSG attached to the v6 available in the TT will be available in the porsche's version of the v6. That'd be sweet. Porsche is working on their own dual-clutch system anyway, so why not make the public think you have that tech now, and then fill in the gap across the range later?
