How easy is it to get to the Mulsanne at night undetected? im guessing its a case of walking down towards arnarge and indy and then just cutting through the forest?

We had a go but after about an hour gave up as we didn't seem to be getting any closer. Police numbers seemed a lot larger this year.

Effectively yes. Don't go down the fire breaks as most have marshall posts at the end. Best to sneak through the woods.

The run up from Arnage to the Porsche curves is pretty much as good though and less of a trek. I doubt you can really tell the difference between 320 and 330kph

We came from the Tertre Rouge end, through a couple of fenced off areas untill we reached a Car park for a Warehouse (can also walk from the second HA roundabout along the road apparently!!)

We then bundled over another fence and through the woods, over a couple more ditches into a field where somebody had carved a track in the grass. Hey presto, trackside!

i took a few short cuts and went down to hunderies and stood with the marshalls TWICE! once at about 6 in the evening and then again at 2 in the morning, got some fantastic video clips which will be going on my youtube account this week.

on the way back up we got stopped by some bearded jobsworth who told us in his best attempt at English that we we're in out of bounds area, simply telling him that A: we don't speak french very well and B: there's no signs shut him up, off we went grinning like school kids after a naughty prank heh heh.

sorry but i can't share the route we took otherwise it'll spoil it for next year....but if you're on our camp next year then you can come with us.

We found a good spot to get trackside at the mulsanne spectating area. It wasn't all that far down the straight but was good fun and easy to get to. In the parking area at Mulsanne down the track in the woods. At the top of the carpark the security fence was a little weak. In fact it was pretty much non-existent. If you went over this you could climb the hill to a phone tower. Once here there were a lot of paths down to the track. There was a few marshalls but it was relatively easy to stay hidden. Don't know if qnyone else saw this point.

next year i'm not only wearing a long sleeve shirt like i did this year and spraying my hands and kneck with mozzie repellent but i'm spraying the long sleeved shirt with repllent too cos the little bleeders got through my shirt.
still, it was worth it.

We got to the inside of the track on the last short straight just before Porsche Curves. We managed to stay for 2 hrs and I got some great pics, but the sound and fury of the cars when you are only 8ft away, will stay with me for ever!

...as probably will the bramble scars.....!!!
