Been looking around on google but have not had much luck -

We are looking for an insurance policy that will cover us in event of sudden critical illness, death or disablement for my business partner and I. With the loss of one of us, the business loses a lot of money.

Are there insurance policies out there that will cover us for loss of earnings etc in event of these circumstances?

Not going well so far.

I called HSBC who had a big advert, got through to a chap that first told me that they didnt do Keyman (despite the "direct" number called for getting it), then he told me that they did, then he told me that he didnt know what it Keyman insurance meant...

Another company didnt seem to have a direct number but asked for me to search for them on "goggle" rolleyes

Tried calling two others, one was an indian callcentre with an accent so thick I could not actually understand him at all, and one who didnt seem to know what his own name was.

Might be cheaper and simpler not to bother... rolleyeshehe

I would have suggested HSBC, do all sorts of cover, although it sounds like you already have tried?

I went to my local permier Branch and they were only too happy to disucss things, although maybe not the exact KeyMan cover you are on about.

And, unlike normal personal life assurance policies, premiums paid out by a business in respect of Keyman Policies are FULLY allowable as business costs for tax purposes.

or the heading, give us al your money? Friend of mine with a carpet cleaning business found that the insurance he could afford didn't kick in for a number of weeks/months by which time it was too late anyway. He had a neck problem (no fun humping kit out of the trailer all day. Within 2 months of being unable to work his contracts had gone, his cashflow was all over the place (franchise) and he was finished. Got a job in an office.

I recall my business bank offered me keyman insurance at a price some years ago; Yorkshire Bank.
